Description

Attractive chrome electrically powered water boiler. Generally used for boiling water for tea or other hot beverages that do not require percolation like coffee.  Measures 18″ tall by 9″ wide. Holds up to 55 cups of water.

IMPORTANT:  This unit requires high power for proper boiling, operation and safety. The power required is a 120v with a three prong plug, more importantly it uses 1500 watts. Typically a circuit will only take 1500 watts before it trips. Therefore if you have a heating water boiler plugged in and ANY other appliance is plugged into the same circuit(fuse) it will either trip the breaker or the boiler will not heat to temperature.

Other issues that will cause the water to not function properly:

  • use of power bar or extension cord
  • use in building with old outdated wiring
  • use with any other appliances plugged into the same circuit
  • using warm or hot water wo fill the urn(it must be cold when filling

Troubleshooting Tips

Issue: Urn not brewing / water not getting hot enough of staying hot.

  1. Warm or hot water used for fill – empty unit and replace with cold water. The unit operates usig a temperature censor and requires cold water to do it’s job.
  2. Insufficient power supply – double check that the circuit is being dedicated to power the urn. 120 volts // 1500w is a requirement.
  3. Urn damaged of overheating – unit was power on or operated without water. This will have damaged the electrical connections
  4. Circuit blown – check that the circuit has not tripped.
  5. Extension cord or power bar used – because this unit requires a lot of power, extension cords /power bars will cause problems.
  6. Insufficient power to plug – this unit required 120 volts // 1500w to operate. Without adequate power, the unit will not work.

Issue: Nozzle / spout leaking  – while this is rare as we do a full inspection of the unit and test prior to sending out, when on rent long term, this can become an issue.

  1. Turn nozzle to tighten
  2. Place saucer under slow leak / drip
  3. Remove all liquid, tighten nut inside unit while holding the spout.

WARNING: Urn will overheat and get damaged if running without water. Unplug immediately when low on liquid, before becoming fully emtied. Inhouse repair fees will apply if run without water.
